The Indian Film and Television Producers Council have threatened legal action against the influencers engaged in ‘forced recovery acts’ through negative reviews.
Actors and directors have often reported that with the spread of reviewers in the Indian film industry, it has become difficult to identify those who are reliable and accurate. Now, the body of a filmmaker has also come out against some social media affected, who post negative film reviews, allegedly deliberately wrong and vandalized films.
IFTPC threatens legal action
The Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC), an association representing the interests of more than 375 leading film and television makers in India has issued a statement that it is looking for a legal lawyer ‘What is’ forced’ from those who affect all the available legal measures under both citizens and criminal laws.
The statement stated that IFTPC has “observed a dangerous trend, where some social media affected hunters are engaged in hunter practices, which are threatening to release malicious and unequal reviews or response videos of films, chains, and other audiovizual materials, which together with demands from producers.”
The IFPTC stated that “if these demands are not met, they threaten to launch the targeted operations designed to deliberately vandalize the reception and commercial viability of the affected project.”
‘Not against freedom of speech’
Given that the organization is not against the freedom of speech and ‘real, creative criticism,’ the statement said that “some of these forced recovery work by unscrupulous persons are beyond the scope of legitimate review and pose a serious threat to the creative and economic health of the Indian film and entertainment industry.”
In the last decade, Tech and Social Media Boom have seen the spread of film critics in Bollywood and other Indian film industries, where film reviews are no longer limited to traditional media. The scores of youtubers and the affected have created their own channels for reviews and analysis of films, trailers, songs and more. Many of them have millions of scenes and thousands of customers.
