Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan made her mark in Bollywood with many hit films and chart-topping songs. However, the filmmaker has often spoken about his difficult childhood, losing his father at an early age, living with his family in a one-room house and earning money to support them. Farah Khan says she understands outsiders’ anger over Nepo Babies
When Sania asked if her financial struggles shaped who she is today, Farah candidly replied, “As of now, I am insecure about money. For me, I need to be financially secure to relax, that’s the only insecurity. The desire to keep working is always there. I may not be actively directing, but I am working harder than I was in my primary career years. We saw our father go from very rich to very poor, and for many years, We lived face to face.”
Reflecting on how people view success stories today, Farah said, “Nowadays, everyone wants a story of struggle. Even people who haven’t really struggled are trying to make something weird. But I’m glad my kids won’t have a story like that.”
Speaking about the resentment some outsiders have towards the Star Kids, Farah sympathized with them, saying, “I can understand when people come to Mumbai from outside and they feel angry towards the Napo Babies. I can understand where this anger comes from, because they are struggling to pay their rent every month. To them, their (Star Kids) struggles seem very trivial.”
