New Delhi. Social media platforms Facebook and Instagram have recovered. With this, crores of users have heaved a sigh of relief. Earlier, Facebook and Instagram went down suddenly on Tuesday night, March 5, 2024. Users’ accounts were suddenly logged out. Facebook and Instagram users remained troubled for about 50 minutes.
According to Downdetector, a platform that monitors disturbances on social media networks, the problem of network outage in various apps of Google and Meta was recorded around 9 pm Indian time.
Fear of global cyber attack
Milind Raj, CEO of Roboz.in Tech, told PTI, ‘I myself tried several times but I could not log in to my Instagram and Facebook accounts. I suspect that this is a global cyber attack.
Statement from Meta
Facebook’s parent company Meta issued an official statement on this matter and said that they are looking into the matter. Meta’s head of communications Andy Stone tweeted, “We know people are having trouble accessing our services. We are working on it right now.”
