Emraan Hashmi said he doesn’t want to oppose any awards function but those who want to decorate their living rooms are free to attend.
Kangana Ranaut has been vocal about how she doesn’t like attending award shows as they are all for TRPs, where a star performs and then gets the award. Emraan Hashmi also avoids award functions and spoke about it in a podcast interview with Subhankar Mishra. During the conversation, he was also seen taking a dig at Kangana’s comments at the same time. During the interview, when Emraan was asked to talk about his opinion on award shows, and if he thinks they are as useless as Kangana, the actor said, “Kyunki mila band ho gaya fir uske baad? Mujhe ek award mila, main bhul gaya… for which I went to the award function and I realised the value of this thing after that, that if you perform for them then it’s a deal (because she stopped getting awards? I forget which award I got but I realised what’s going on behind it, that if you perform for them then it’s a deal).”

He went on to add, “Right now I will not say that this is not good. I won’t diss on awards. Those people who want to decorate their living room, do it!
