In keeping with her Poor Things promotions, the Oscar winner, who may soon be closing in on her second Academy Honor, stepped out in a custom peach gown for the BAFTAs 2024. Vogue revealed her longtime stylist, Petra Flannery. I had to say about that particular fashion look that took hundreds of hours (four times) to perfect.
Keeping Emma’s identity alive in the image of the gown, Flannery reportedly allowed it to “show her affinity with the character and the spirit of Bella”. Despite the peach gown appearing to be a simple piece of evening fashion from a distance, looking at it up close may leave you thinking otherwise.

Emma’s Louis Vuitton custom dress (by Nicolas Ghesquière) isn’t the first piece of fashion to honor her artistic Bella Baxter persona. Like her Critics’ Choice Awards gown with “BB” detail, the peach one-shoulder asymmetric bustier gown was a quintessential impression of Bella’s period costumes.

Transforming from their over-the-top London premiere look into a beautifully elegant look for the BAFTAs, Team Stone invested 450 hours and over 20 meters of fabric to make this fashionable dream come true.
The Emma Stone Louis Vuitton dress one-shoulder top was crafted from contrasting silk jacquard, with a nearly transparent chiffon skirt with a padded band as a trailing closure at the bottom. A statement balloon sleeve on the other hand is enough to add flair and drama simultaneously.
Emma’s creative team perfectly designed her ‘custom’ look by brainstorming artwork tailored specifically to her personality.
Petra has been associated with Stone’s brand for over a decade and describes her style as “fun, chic, elegant, graceful…but with an edge”, which has been highlighted in her press and award show appearances.
