East Central Railway is installing escalators and lifts at stations to make the journey easier for passengers

darbhanga. Travel of elderly people, women and Divyangjans will now be a little easier. East Central Railway has taken several steps for the convenience of passengers on trains and stations. Escalators and lifts have been installed at major stations to move from one platform to another. This will provide relief to senior citizens, women and Divyangjans. East Central Railway has so far installed 33 escalators and 49 lifts at major stations. 35 more escalators and 34 lifts are to be installed at various stations.

Chief Public Relations Officer Saraswati Chandra said that a total of 33 escalators have been installed including 06 at Patna Junction, 02 each at Pataliputra, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Ara, Buxar, Gaya, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Dhanbad stations, 04 each at Muzaffarpur and Samastipur stations and 5 at Darbhanga station.

29 more escalators will be installed
Work is in progress to install 4 escalators at Patna Junction and 2 at Hajipur. Apart from this, 2 escalators each will be installed at Patna Junction, Patna Sahib Danapur and Ara stations of Danapur division, 2 each at Parasnath, Garhwa Road and Daltonganj of Dhanbad division, 4 escalators at Koderma, 2 each at Sasaram and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay division, 2 each at Muzaffarpur and Khagaria stations of Sonpur division, 2 at Saharsa station and 1 at Darbhanga station of Samastipur division, making a total of 29 escalators.

A total of 49 lifts have been installed at Patna, Rajendra Nagar, Pataliputra and Buxar of Danapur division, Gaya, Sasaram, Anugrah Narayan Road and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction of Sonpur division, Hajipur, Sonpur, Muzaffarpur and Barauni of Sonpur division, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Saharsa, Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Madhubani stations of Samastipur division and Dhanbad, Koderma and Daltonganj stations of Dhanbad division. 04 lifts in Patna, 01 in Rajendra Nagar Terminal, 02 in Patna Sahib, 04 in Danapur, 02 in Ara, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction. The work of installing 34 lifts is in progress, including 02 in Sasaram, 01 in Anugrah Narayan Road, 02 in Dehri on Sone, 02 in Khagaria, 02 in Raxaul, 02 in Jaynagar, 01 in Dhanbad, 02 in Koderma, 02 in Gomo, 02 in Parasnath and 02 in Singrauli.
