Security has been tightened at the North Campus of Delhi University on Friday, beyond the vote-counting process for 2025 Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections at the University Sports Stadium.
A heavy police has been deployed in the North Complex before the counting of the vote.
Voting for the DUSU election was held in two phases on Thursday, during which all the eligible students cast their ballots in one of the country’s largest student elections. The votes are going to be counted today.
Earlier, the national president of NSUI Varun Chaudhary alleged that the Delhi University administration was trying to influence the result, claiming that the “ABVP goons” are scaring students in the campus.
Speaking to National President of National Students Union of India (NSUI) ANI, Varun Chaudhary expressed his confidence to win all four seats, but at the same time alleged that the administration was trying to influence the election. He said, “The atmosphere is good, but the police and ABVP goons are openly roaming around, harassing the students. I have not seen such an atmosphere in my last 15 years of student politics. The Chief Minister’s husband, Rekha Gupta, are trying to know about the dew administration.

NSUI president candidate, Josalin Nandita Chaudhary said that the support shown by the students is double this time. He said, “I hope so much and we are going to give a favorable result. NSUI won two seats last time, and this time the response is doubled, and we will win all four seats.”
She highlighted her commitment to women empowerment and said, “I am a female presidential candidate. We are demanding a monthly holiday for twelve-day in semester. We are demanding a safe campus for students. Students come to Delhi University from all over the world, so CCTV cameras should be installed everywhere. Problems, and I want to work on it …”
