According to media reports quoting the Basic Education Officer of the district, it has been announced that classes in Agra will start from February 12 at 10 am. This instruction applies to all schools from nursery to class 12th and classes will continue at the same time. until further notice. The decision to extend the class timings has been taken by the district administration in view of the severe cold conditions.
Due to fog in the morning and cold winds, the cold has increased in Agra. On Wednesday, there was a slight decrease of 0.3 degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature and it was recorded at 8.9 degrees. The maximum temperature remained stable at 23.3 degrees. The Meteorological Department estimates that there will be fog in the district for the next 3 days, there is a possibility of some relief from sunshine during the day. However, the department has indicated that at present there is no sign of drop in temperature.
The Delhi government has issued an official order allowing the resumption of regular school activities in the capital. Citing improved weather conditions, all government-aided and recognized private schools in Delhi will return to their normal schedule from February 6.
According to the official notice, “Due to the improvement in weather conditions in Delhi, all government aided and recognized private schools in Delhi will resume their regular timings from February 6 (Tuesday). Heads of Schools (HoSs) are required to immediately inform all students, parents and staff through mass SMS, phone calls, School Management Committees (SMCs) and other appropriate communication channels.
Earlier, the Delhi government had changed the school timings from 9 am to 5 pm due to dense fog and cold wave conditions. The decision was taken after the extended winter vacation from January 1 to 15.
