Korba. Two little Kathak dancers from Korba have brought glory to Chhattisgarh with their excellent performance in the 14th International Cultural Olympiad held in Dubai. Namrata Bareth and 8 year old Yodha Parvatham showcased their talent on this prestigious stage. Namrata has brought pride to her district by winning gold medal and Yodha has won silver medal in the competition.

Namrata Bareth, who is a talented dancer, won the hearts of the judges with her excellent dance performance and received the Gold Medal as well as the Golden Star Award. Yodha Parvatham, a class 3 student of DPS Public School Balco Nagar, also attracted the attention of the participants with her dancing skills and won the silver medal.

Both the dancers are disciples of renowned Kathak dance guru and tabla player Mordhwaj Vaishnav. Even before this, Namrata and Yodha have performed on many national level stages in different cities of India like Bhilai, Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Pune and Agra, where they showcased their dance skills and received accolades.
Korba got a new identity
The excellence of these two in Kathak dance has given a new identity to the cultural area of Korba. Collector Ajit Vasant praised him for this success and inspired him for further competitions. He said that such achievements are important not only at the individual level, but also at the community and state level.
