DU issued a notification saying that “due to some logistical issues, some papers could not be sent and could not be conducted at some examination centres”.

Delhi University will host a job fair on October 8, registrations are open till October 5.
Chaos and gloom prevailed at Delhi University exam centers on Saturday as exam papers for over 35 subjects arrived late by nearly four hours, disrupting the schedule and leaving students worried.
The two-hour exam, which started at 9.30 am, was delayed till almost noon in many colleges, while some papers were eventually cancelled, exposing serious logistical flaws in DU’s examination system.
Official sources said the delayed papers were discipline-specific electives (DSEs), mainly for seventh semester undergraduate students, The Times of India reported.
“Around 800 papers were scheduled for the morning session, with around 1.4 lakh students appearing for the exams across DU campuses. More than 35 DSE papers could not be sent on time,” TOI quoted an official as saying.
The university later issued a notification saying that “due to some logistical issues, some papers could not be sent and could not be conducted at some examination centres”. It claimed that the problem was later fixed and the documents were sent.
Honors students appearing for the three core subjects will be allowed to use the later exam slots, while revised dates for the affected program courses will be notified separately, the exams will be conducted by the second week of January 2026, DU said.
According to the official, exams for up to 10 papers had to be cancelled, affecting more than 100 students, while some exams were conducted later “with considerable difficulty”.
The highest delays were recorded in science and computer science courses. “Two papers of computer science – digital image processing and compiler design – did not reach any of the colleges of the university till 12:50 pm,” an official said.
Students said the wait has increased stress and confusion. A seventh-semester science student at Miranda College said, “We were asked to sit and wait without any clarity on whether the exam would take place or not. Some students left thinking it had been cancelled, while others stayed till the afternoon.”
Another student taking DSE at Lady Shri Ram College for Women said preparations for other exams were affected due to the delay. “We were mentally exhausted by the time the exams started and there was no official information for hours,” he said.
