Dr. Rahul Kumar, head of the department, in the hurt of orthopedics, trauma, spine and sports injury, Mass, Noida, shared with HT lifestyle as to why atmospheric pressure is a big reason why the joints were hurt.

He said, “When the pressure decreases, the tissue around the joints can slightly expand. It puts more pressure on the joints, causing discomfort and rigidity, especially in people with arthritis”

Interestingly, he compared with balloons. He said, “Think of balloons like your joints. Outside the low air pressure allows tissues to rise from inside, unlike the balloon, your joints are not made for extra expansion at all.”

Dr. Kumar further stated that the change in temperature during the rainy season affects joint lubrication. When lubrication is low, friction increases, causing hard and more uncomfortable joints.
