If you or someone in your house has diabetes, controlling the intake of carbs becomes a highest priority, because simple carbs like bread and rice can quickly increase your blood sugar and make it difficult to manage your diabetes.

However, if it is not recommended by your healthcare service professional, there may be no answer to remove bread and rice from your diet. According to a dietist Shweta J Panchal, MSc Clinical Nutrition, Chinese spikes from bread and rice can be easily managed before eating salads. “You have to eat salad before eating bread and rice, especially if you have diabetes,” he insisted.
If you have diabetes, do not sleep on salad
In a video shared on June 15, Shweta said that if someone has diabetes, they should not leave the salad before eating bread or rice. “The fiber involves your food before eating a salad, and the fiber slows down how quickly the sugar enters your bloodstream. This means that there is less sugar spikes and more stable energy after eating. This is a small change, but it makes a big difference,” she explained.
How fiber helps stabilize sugar levels
The dietist also conducted an experiment in the video, which showed our blood sugar levels with and without fiber. He took two glasses of water and mixed blue dye.
The first glass indicated our body without fiber, the second with fiber, acted as sugar with dye. When she added the dye to the first glass directly, it indicates how quickly the sugar mixes in our bloodstream. The dietist explained that when we eat bread and rice without fiber, it is how sugar is found in our blood, and our blood sugar levels also increase.
To show the role of the fiber, he added the dye to a waterfall and placed it on top of the glass. Stretner acted as a filter in the second glass and did not allow glucose to be easily mixed in the bloodstream like the first glass, making the sugar levels a steady increase in another glass.
