The Election Commission of India responded to the allegations about Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote theft’, called it ‘derogatory’. The pole panel said that it is very ‘strange’ that the leaders of the opposition in the Lok Sabha have still started threatening the pole panel and its employees.
The Poll Panel said in a statement shared by news agency ANI, “The Commission of India ignores all such irresponsible statements and asks all its employees to continue working fairly and transparently.”
The pole panel said that “it is very strange that he is making wild allegations and has still started threatening the EC and its employees.”
On August 2, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Election Commission was involved in ‘Vote Chori’ for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and claimed that his party had “open and closed” evidence for it.
RAE Bareli Membership Member (MP) compared the evidence of his party’s alleged poll irregularities to the ‘atomic bomb’ and said that when this explosion occurs, the Election Commission will not have any place to hide in the country.
In response, the Election Commission claimed that Rahul Gandhi was not responding to his email and letter and was sent in June 2025. The poll panel also said that Rahul Gandhi never sent any letter on any issue, whatever it is.
Gandhi said that his party was suspected of poll irregularities in the Tedya state assembly elections in 2023, then in the Lok Sabha elections, and it moved forward in Maharashtra.
“We believe that the vote theft took place at the state level (in Maharashtra). The voter was amended, and one crore voters were added. Then we went into detail, given that the EC is not helping, and decided to dig a deep digging,” he said.
‘Malicious campaign’
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of resorting to “dangerous behavior” and running a “malicious campaign” to defam constitutional bodies such as Election Commission as part of a conspiracy to weaken democracy in the country.
Targeting the Election Commission, returning to Gandhi for his “vote theft” comment, Rijiju said that the Congress leaders were working in a “childish” manner by running a campaign against the Poll Authority after losing a series of elections.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rijiju said, “When he (Congress) wins the election, everything happens Hunky Dori. But, when he loses the election, the Election Commission has to blame. It is a conspiracy to weaken democracy.”
The monsoon session of Parliament, which began on July 21, has repeatedly seen disruptions after opposition from opposition on the amendment of the electoral rolls in Bihar before the end of this year.
Rijiju accused Gandhi of launching a malicious campaign against constitutional bodies and called it a “dangerous behavior and approach”.
