The Delhi University academic session 2024-25 begins today, August 29. Since the first semester classes are starting about three weeks later than usual, the admission process is still on.
The central university on Sunday announced the second round of allotment for undergraduate programmes in various colleges. According to the notice issued on August 25, candidates selected in the second round can deposit the fees till 4:59 pm on Friday, August 30. Only those candidates will be eligible who will make the payment before the window closes. Candidates will be able to choose the option to “upgrade” for the next round. The window to accept Round-2 allotment by logging in through the DU dashboard closed on Tuesday.
“The university will announce the allotment of performance-based programmes and additional quotas of CW, ECA, Sports and Wards in the third round of allotment. The schedule for the third round will be announced soon,” the notice said.

The delay in starting of classes for the first semester of the academic session 2024-25 can be attributed to the late release of the notification. Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) results, Hindustan Times Officials gave this information. Admission to undergraduate courses in many central universities is done through CUET-UG, which acts as a single-window exam.
This year the CUET-UG results were declared on July 28, almost a month after the scheduled date. Earlier the results were to be declared on June 30, but it was delayed. “We have to match our results with the results sent by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for CUET so that students can check which subjects and colleges they are eligible for.
