According to data released by the institution on Tuesday, Delhi University has received more than 3.05 lakh registrations for its graduation admission for the academic session 2025-26 after applying in the highest number after the implementation of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).
Admission 69 colleges and many university departments are running for 71,642 seats spread over 79 programs.
Around 2,39,890 candidates have submitted their priorities through Phase II of the Common seat allocation system (CSAS), which was opened on 17 June after the announcement of CUET results.
B.com (honors.) Top
A popular choice remains between b.com (hons.) Application With 48,336 preferences, BA (Hons) Political Science (15,295), B.Sc (Honors) Zoology (12,722), B.Tech (Mathematics and Humanities) (Humanities) (10,584), and B.Com (8,939).
The most popular BA program combinations were History + Political Science (7,60,233), Economics + Political Science (3,88,407), and English + Economics (3,49,367).
In terms of stream choice, 58.89% of the candidates selected humanities-based programs, 20.89% chose commerce, and 20.22% chose for science.
Total count of unique programs and College Preferences are 1,68,36,462, candidates are allowed to select 1,549 program-college options. The highest number of preferences presented by single applicant was 1,414. On average, the candidates presented 83 preferences.
In particular, 1,27,284 female candidates (53.06%) presented their priorities compared to 1,12,603 male candidates (46.93%), while three candidates were identified as transgender. Additionally, the university received 512 applications through orphan quota, including 221 females and 291 male and 7,243 single girl child quota under 7,243 applications.
In the context of colleges, Shri Ram College of Commerce remains a top option with 38,795 preferences, followed by Hindu College (31,901), Hansraj College (15,902), St. Stephen College (12,413), and Miranda House (11,403).
The university has declared a general simulated rank on the basis of preferences provided by candidates on July 15, 2025 at 5 pm. These ranks will be based on preferences received by 14 July 2025. Delhi University will again open the window to change their preferences to the candidates. This window will be open till 11:59 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
