The Delhi Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Wednesday claimed that the “Delhi Chief Minister’s Residence” at 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines was forcibly vacated on the orders of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The allegation was that Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena wants to allot it to a BJP leader.
The CMO’s statement, shared by news agency ANI, alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s belongings were also removed from her residence, which was earlier occupied by her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal.
“A team of PWD [Public Works Department] The officials reached Delhi Chief Minister’s residence, 6-Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines. Delhi CMO claims that Delhi LG got all the belongings of Chief Minister Atishi removed from the Chief Minister’s residence,” ANI reported on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, AAP MP Sanjay Singh had said that the authorities are not allotting the bungalow to CM Atishi and his camp office there has also been vacated.
What did AAP allege?
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said in a press release that Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh “revealed that in blatant disregard of protocol, the authorities have not allotted the official Chief Minister residence to CM Atishi under pressure from the BJP.”
Singh said, “This move stems from the BJP’s intention to capture the CM residence after not winning here for the last 27 years.”
Singh said, “For this, despite CM Atishi setting up a camp office and holding a meeting at the CM residence, all the employees have been removed from there.” He also produced official documents certifying the vacation of the house by former CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Sanjay Singh said that BJP is spreading lies and creating confusion in Delhi. “They have contested elections thrice, lost thrice and now, since they cannot win the elections, they are trying to destroy Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.
“Now, since they cannot win, they are saying, ‘Capture the Chief Minister’s residence.’ They have a new desire and willingness to take over the chief ministerial residence,” Singh said.
Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ sealed!
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, reacting to the incident, said that finally Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘Sheesh Mahal’ has been sealed.
Sachdeva said, “What are the secrets hidden in that bungalow that you were trying to re-enter the bungalow without handing over the keys to the concerned department? You made a good play by carrying your luggage in two small trucks.”
He said, “Everyone knows that the bungalow is still in your possession. The way you tried to hand over the bungalow to Atishi was unconstitutional. The bungalow has already been allotted to Atishi, then how can he take your bungalow. Can? There are many secrets hidden.” In that bungalow…”
