actor Deepika Kakkar recently broke down in tears while opening up about her ongoing cancer treatment, revealing that she lives in constant fear. She admitted that dealing with multiple health complications has been tiring, and revealed that she still feels anxious when her medical reports come back normal.
Deepika broke down
Deepika talked about her ongoing liver cancer treatment in a vlog on YouTube. The actor was also joined by her husband and other actors Shoaib Ibrahim in the video.
Deepika said, “It’s not that I feel overwhelmed all the time, there are some days when I feel really happy and hopeful. There are days when I believe that everything is absolutely fine, and despite such a big issue, things are still okay. Every day brings something different, and that’s the only way forward. And that’s what we’re trying to do. I’m going through an emotional breakdown right now. Alhamdulillah, all my “The reports are normal and things are moving in the right direction, but… there is still that fear in my heart, even when everything seems fine.”
The Sasural Simar Ka actor further added, “But the truth is, every day I wake up with something new. Sometimes my thyroid levels fluctuate. Hormonal changes affect the body in unexpected ways. My skin has become extremely dry, in the last two days the air has become so dry that the skin on my hands has started cracking. I feel a strange pressure on my ears and neck. My nose also feels uncomfortably dry.”
Deepika admitted that it is “exhausting” to deal with so many complexities. He said that one has to remind oneself that you only have two options: sit with the fear and let it overcome you, or face it and move forward. And he believes that the only way to fight through all this is to keep moving forward.
Deepika’s fight with cancer
Deepika has been battling stage 2 liver cancer for the last few months. In June 2025, the Sasural Simar Ka actress underwent tumor removal surgery as part of her ongoing treatment.
Deepika has been using her YouTube channel to document her health journey, sharing her experience with chemotherapy, her emotional ups and downs, and her gradual steps towards recovery. Both she and Shoaib regularly post updates on their respective vlogs, keeping fans connected and informed.
Deepika recently opened up about battling liver cancer when she appeared on the LOL podcast with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, where she revealed that 22 percent of her liver was removed through surgery after she was diagnosed with cancer.
