Prayagraj: In Mahakumbh 2025, more than 66 crore devotees bathed at the holy confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati for 45 days. During the Mahakumbh, people praised the decoration of the major religious and historical sites of Prayagraj. In view of this, the government has given good news for tourists that these major sites of Prayagraj will be decorated with colorful lights, so that visiting tourists can always be attracted.
There will be light forever
The colorful lighting made at the major historical and religious places of Prayagraj during the Mahakumbh was the center of attraction. The responsibility of planting and taking care of these lights for the next 5 years has been entrusted to Uttar Pradesh Project Power Corporation Limited and Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. The tourism department has planned to keep these lighting grand and divine forever.
The responsibility of lighting will be given to the electricity department
Before the fair started during Mahakumbh, lights were installed on Shastri Bridge, Naya Yamuna Bridge, Nag Vasuki Temple, Maa Alok Shankari Temple, Akbar’s Fort and Adi Shankar Vimana Mandapam. A 5 -year agreement was reached for this. Now according to the plan, after 5 years, Adi Shankar Vimana Mandapam, Nag Vasuki Temple and Alok Shankari Devi’s managing committee will be entrusted with the responsibility of light. At the same time, the responsibility of lighting on the fort of Shastri Bridge, Yamuna Bridge and Akbar will be given to the Municipal Corporation’s Electricity Department.
People liked the lights at religious places
According to Regional Tourism Officer Aparajita Singh, crores of devotees who came to Prayagraj Sangam during Mahakumbh praised the decoration of Mahakumbh. People also liked the lights at historical and religious places. So now there is a plan of governance that these sites will be equipped with colorful lights forever so that they will always be shining.
