A case has been registered against the fraudsters and their interrogation is underway. Sources said the police are also investigating whether the arrested persons are connected to any inter-state fraud gang.
The Bihar Police has arrested 12 people, including two women, for allegedly appearing in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)-2024 at various examination centres in Darbhanga district and solving the exam on behalf of other candidates.
“Nine arrests were made from various centres under the jurisdiction of Laheriyasarai police station, while two persons were arrested from a centre under Sadar police station and one from a centre under Bahadurpur police station,” Darbhanga SSP Jagunath Reddy told reporters on Sunday. Police said the impersonation was detected through biometric fingerprint scans of candidates at the exam centres.
The police have taken action on the basis of complaints from inspectors and administrators. A case has been registered against the fake candidates and their interrogation is underway. The police is also gathering information about the real candidates.
Sources said the police were also probing whether the arrested persons were linked to any inter-state fraud gang.
