A day after former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur made serious allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process, Shimla on Saturday said the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission that on June 15, the police constable recruitment examination “in a fair and transparent manner” with the help of the district administration, “strictly follows for all the prescribed procedures and safety protocols.
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission said in a release, however, it comes to notice that some claims about cheating/copying in examination centers after uploading the answer key on the website are roaming on social media platforms.
The release said, “The Commission is investigating the matter thoroughly, in which CCTV footage reviews and reports from the examination centers and appropriate action will be taken if a candidate is found using cheating/improper means.”
“However, the Commission has not received any such report of cheating/cheating from the district administration, center supervisors or inspection officers and even after examining the CCTV footage of the special centers where the candidates have flattened the allegations of cheating/cheating, no evidence has been found.”
HPPSC strongly condemned the spread of misinformation on social media platforms and said that proper legal action would be taken against anyone who spreads misleading and rejected claims.
The release said, “The Commission is committed to transparency and accountability and welcomes creative reporting working in public interest. However, any attempt to confuse the public or mislead this constitutional institution incorrectly will be strictly dealt with as per law.”
“If any candidate has any complaint about this examination, he is requested to contact the Commission directly to redress his complaints. The Commission assured that all such issues will be fully questioned and action will be initiated as a warrant.”
Earlier on Friday, Thakur accused the state government of trying to cover alleged irregularities in police recruitment.
Addressing a press conference here, he claimed that there were several complaints of irregularities in the police recruitment.
Thakur said that two persons arrested in connection with the case have allegedly accepted to receive 34 lakhs.
He said that the candidates have also alleged irregularities, but the government isware of taking strict action.
The former Chief Minister alleged that most of the candidates in Chamba, most women said that some people were allowed to appear in the examination with mobile equipment but no one stopped them.
