Rajiv Shukla, a Congress member of Parliament, killed US President Donald Trump to ‘dead’ the calls for the economies of India and Russia. Shukla’s statement is a contradiction with party leader Rahul Gandhi, who agreed with Trump and said that he was happy that the US President said a ‘fact’ about the Indian economy.
“The Indian economy is not dead. Economic reforms were made when PV Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh were. Atal Bihari Vajpayee carried forward those reforms. Manmohan Singh strengthened it in 10 years. The present government has also worked on it,” Shukla told news agency Annie.
Targeting India’s trade relations with Russia, Donald Trump said on Thursday that he did not care what India does with Russia and accused the two countries of being “dead economies”.
Trump said in a post on the truth social, “I don’t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies together, for all,” Trump said in a post on truth social. Trump said in the post, “We have done very little business with India, their tariffs are very high.”
‘Not weak at all’
Shukla said that the Indian economic situation is not weak at all. “If someone claims that they can eliminate us financially, it is likely to be due to misunderstanding. Trump is living in an illusion. It is wrong to implement the tariff. Every nation has the right to trade with the nation.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi agreed with US President Donald Trump’s statement that the Indian economy is ‘dead’ and said he was ‘happy’ that the US President has said a fact.
Talking to journalists outside Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said that the whole world knows that the Indian economy is ‘dead’ except the Prime Minister and Finance Minister.
“Yes, he is right. Everyone knows this except the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.
Gandhi, a member of Parliament from Rai Barli in Uttar Pradesh, also shared his comment on X.
Earlier, President Donald Trump announced a 25 percent tariff on Indian goods starting on August 1, cited India’s high trade obstacles, and an additional “fined” for India’s continuous energy and defense relations with Russia. Trump criticized India’s military and oil imports from Russia, saying that he had enabled Moscow to continue the war on Ukraine.
Shukla on Wednesday called US President Trump’s 25 percent tariff “wrong step” on India, stressing that he would raise the issue in the ongoing session of Parliament.
“We will raise all issues in Parliament … When there is so much friendship (between India-US), why are Donald Trump bothering India? … This is really a wrong step by America. The government considers Trump a friend, but he has really slapped us; Indian businessmen will suffer from this,” Shukla told Annie.
