MDDA Park located in Rajpur, about 10 km from Dehradun, is a multi -purpose public park. It is considered a great place for photography and videography enthusiasts. This park is special with facilities like sports grounds, colorful fountains, velvet gardens, jogging tracks, swings and seating benches. It is also a popular picnic spot for tourists visiting Mussoorie with a calm environment and natural beauty. Located about 11 km from the railway station, this park opens on the ticket of 30 rupees per person and is open from 6 am to 9 am. The view of the beautiful hills of Mussoorie can also be seen from here.
Malsi Dear Park located in Malsi area of Dehradun, now known as Dehradun Joo, is a mini geological park. Here you can see leopards, deer, chital, sambhar, nilgai, crocodile, love bird, peacock and many types of owls as well as foreign birds. For admission, there is a ticket of Rs 90 per person, while a separate fee has to be paid to see additional places like Cactus Park, Aquarium. This park is a special attraction for family and nature lovers.
The park is located in the middle of the city of Dehradun and is the best place of Morning Walk for fitness lovers and local people in the morning. Passengers spend time in the shade of trees here to get relief from the humid heat of the city during the day. Walking distance can be easily reached from the bell. Walking is free, but if you want to enjoy trains and entertainment activities for children, then you have to spend 50 to 100 rupees. Facilities like funny games and trains are available for children. This park is open throughout the week.
You will get to see the atmosphere like Mini Tibet at a distance from Delhi-Saharanpur road. The Buddha temple is located in Clemontown, about 4 km from Dehradun ISBT, which was built by Khochen Rinpoche. On reaching here, you get a glimpse of Tibetan culture. Tibetan cuisine, Monk and Tibet can also enjoy purchasing. Especially on Sunday, there is more crowds because this day is completely open to the temple.
Rajaji National Park, spread near the Shivalik ranges in the foothills of the Himalayas, is a very beautiful and exciting place, where Jungle Safari can be enjoyed. Spread over about 820 square kilometers, this park is detailed to Dehradun, Haridwar and Pauri Garhwal. Here you will see the rich biodiversity of Shivalik region. Deer, cheetahs, sambar, elephants, peacocks can see birds of 315 species along with animals. Safari fee is one and a half hundred rupees per three hours for Indian tourists and Rs 600 per person for foreign tourists. This place is perfect for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
President Ashiana, located in the posh area of Dehradun, is being developed on the lines of Hyde Park in London. This 187 year old place, used as stables in the British period, is today known as green gardens, butterfly gardens, lakes, birds and children for playing the best place for children. One can easily reach here from the parade ground through a city bus or Vikram. The entry fee is only Rs 50 per person. This place is an ideal picnic spot for family and nature lovers.
