CLAT 2025 Paper Analysis: The Consortium of National Law Universities conducted the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT 2025) on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The exams for CLAT UG and CLAT PG were conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Now, how difficult was the paper? Here is the detailed paper analysis of CLAT 2025 by Amitendra Kumar, Product Head, CL-LST.
According to Kumar, the difficulty level in the CLAT paper reduced and the same exam pattern was maintained for the second consecutive year, consisting of 120 questions that had to be solved in 2 hours.

The overall difficulty level of the 2025 exam was easy to moderate compared to last year.
Here is a detailed overview of section-wise questions
- English Language: The English section of CLAT 2025 maintained an easy to moderate difficulty level with 20-21 questions. Overall, this section was a little easier than last year.
- Current Affairs including General Knowledge: There was a reduction of 2-3 questions compared to last year and overall there were 20-21 possible questions.
- Legal Arguments: This section was also easy, Kumar said. According to Kumar, considering that it was a tie-breaker section, all 32 questions were possible.
- Logical Argumentation: An incorrect question was set. Leaving that aside, 16-18 questions were worth asking.
- Quantitative Techniques: It was a long set and 5-6 questions could be asked.

What is worth mentioning here is that the candidates appearing in the examination must carry their admit card and all other necessary documents and follow the instructions given on the hall ticket.
They had to enter the examination center premises by 1 pm and sit in their respective seats in the hall or room by 1:30 pm.
Candidates were not allowed to leave the examination hall before 4 pm.

Furthermore, carrying any unauthorized material, such as notes, written papers, or electronic devices into the examination hall was strictly prohibited.
Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 national law universities in India.
