Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded the ‘The Order of the Republic’, the highest civilian honor of Trinidad & Tobago. This is the 25th international honor they got. Modi called it a common glory of 140 crore Indians.

Nayapaul, cricket veteran Brian Lara, former President Alice Clarke, Noor Hasanali, George Maxwell Richards and National leader Dr. Eric Williams have been included. Now Prime Minister Modi’s name has also been recorded in this list.
What is ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’ honor?
The award can be given to any citizen or non-citizen who has done extraordinary service for Trinidad and Tobago. This award is given only in the Gold version and only five persons can get this honor in a year. It can also be given posthumously, but this does not make the deceased members of that society.
