Delhi also has a scrap policy to remove old diesel and petrol vehicles from roads, under which there is a provision for subsidy. The previous government of Delhi was giving subsidy up to Rs 50,000 under the scrap policy. It is mandatory to give a fitness test to 10 -year -old commercial vehicle and 15 year old private passenger vehicle in Delhi. In such a situation, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has made a big announcement to strictly implement this policy from April 1, 2025. If your car fails in a fitness test from April 1 in Delhi, then you will have to deposit your car in registered scrap facility.
Under the scrap policy in Delhi, a deposit certificate is given in exchange for a 15 -year -old train, so that you will get many benefits on buying a new car. After scrapping the vehicle, a certificate will be given to its owner. When the vehicle owner goes to buy a new car, he will have to show that certificate. After showing the scrap certificate of old vehicles, a subsidy of Rs 50,000 will be issued to him.
How many trains have been sent to scrap so far?
The Delhi Transport Department canceled the license of 48,77,646 vehicles in the financial year 2021-22 and seized about 5,000 vehicles and sent it for scrap. Similarly, in the financial year 2022-23, 6,18,192 vehicles were de-registrar and scrapped 1,35,419 vehicles. In the year 2023-24, he de-registrar about 2 lakh vehicles and scraped 14,000 vehicles. At the same time, about 3 lakh trains have been de-registrar in FY 2024-25.
What will happen from April 1?
According to the Transport Department of Delhi Government, about 5.10 lakh vehicle owners have taken NOC so far. He went out of Delhi with NOC and more than 10,000 vehicles have been seized and sent to scrap it.
