In view of the poor performance of a total of 125 schools in Tripura in the board examinations conducted under the Vidyajyothi scheme by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the education department asked teachers to organize special classes for those students who have failed in their board examinations during this period. According to CBSE results, this year class 10 and class 12 recorded a pass percentage of 61 percent and 55 percent.
Various political parties, including CPI(M) and Congress, criticized the BJP for unplanned conversion of Bengali medium schools to English medium with shortage of qualified teachers.
CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chaudhary criticized former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb and former education minister Ratanlal Nath for this situation and said, “We have been complaining for a long time about the government’s unplanned decision to bring Bengali medium schools under the Vidyajyoti scheme. I am saying. It is their pre-planned initiative to create such an unplanned situation. Our student organizations have already protested on this issue.”
Congress spokesperson Partha Acharjee said, “We feel that the Vidyajyothi scheme is creating division among students in the society because only those students who can pay can study in these schools. We are planning to form a panel led by educationists. We appeal to anyone to discuss how this plan could be possible.” Be made free for all students”.
When asked, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that he is aware of the poor performance of students in the board exams and will discuss the matter with the education department as soon as possible.
