Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Science paper today i.e. on March 2. The two-hour exam will start from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. According to CBSE, this year more than 39 lakh students from India and 26 other countries are appearing for the CBSE board exams. As you have already prepared yourself for the Science paper today, we have given some last minute tips for students.
Here are some last minute tips
-Before the exam, always check the marking scheme of the question given in the question paper, this will help you to prioritize how much you have to write for a particular question.
-Revise the notes you have prepared as it will be easier for you to understand.
-Don’t learn anything new because it will only make you nervous, focus on what you know
-Take a look at the sample papers uploaded by the board on its official website. You don’t need to write, just read the questions and solve them in your mind.
-The board has also provided the solution of the sample question paper with respective marks which will help the students to understand the allocation of marks for their responses.
During this, CBSE is planning a pilot for open-book exams (OBE) in selected schools for classes 9 to 12 later this year. This idea was mooted in the last governing body meeting of the CBSE Board in December, 2023. However, officials said there are no plans to adopt the format in Class 10 and 12 board exams. In open-book exams, students are allowed to carry their own notes, textbooks, or other study materials and refer to them during the exam. The pilot will focus on assessing higher-level thinking skills, application, analysis, critical and creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities. While the design, development and review of the Open Book Test is proposed to be completed by June 2024, pilot testing of the materials in schools is being planned in November-December 2024.
CBSE had earlier experimented with an Open Text-Based Assessment (OTBA) format for Class 9 and 11 year-end examinations for three years from 2014-15 to 2016-17, but received negative feedback from stakeholders. It was abolished.
