The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved new criteria to conduct Class 10 board exams start from 2026 and twice a yearController of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj announced.
The first phase of the CBSE 2026 exam will be held in February, followed by a second phase in May, students will be provided more flexibility and several opportunities for their board exams.
CBSE 2026 First Phase Compulsory, Second Stage Optional
According to CBSE, it is mandatory for students of CBSE 2026 class 10 to appear in the first phase of board examination, while the second phase will be optional. Bhardwaj said, “The first phase will be held in February and the second in May. Students will be allowed to improve their performance in any three subjects outside science, mathematics, social science and languages.”
CBSE 2026 results are to be declared in April and June
The results of CBSE 2026 for two phases will be announced in April and June, respectively, who choose the opportunity to improve their score within the same academic year for the second phase.
