Ottawa: There is a wave of anger and mourning in the global community after the brutal killing of 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Canada, who was silent earlier, also finally condemned this terrorist attack. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney mourned it, calling it an ‘mindless violence’. India’s staunch anti -Turkey has also condemned this attack. But India has taken tough steps, holding Pakistan responsible for this attack, due to which the tension between the two countries has reached the peak.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney wrote on X, ‘I am shocked by the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. This was an absurd violence on innocent civilians and tourists. Canada strongly condemns this attack and expresses condolences to the victims and their families. The statement came about 36 hours after the attack, when Canada was the only one in G7 countries which did not react before. However, people appeared angry with his statement, as he did not mention India. Canadian opposition leader Pierre Poolivare had already condemned the attack, saying, ‘This is a frightening act. Canada is united against terrorism. However, he also did not mention India, on which people heard Khubh Khoti.
Türkiye, who has often been speaking against India, also strongly condemned this attack. Turkey called it an ‘cruel terrorist act’ and expressed condolences to the victims. This attitude of Türkiye is being seen with surprise in India, as it usually supports Pakistan.
I am afraid of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, a insensitive and shocking work of violence that has killed innocent citizens and tourists.
Canada strongly condemns this terrorist attack. We provide our condolences to the victims and their families.
