New Delhi: Once again an incident of firing has come to light in Canada. Two people have been killed and another seriously injured in a daytime shooting at a workplace in South Edmonton, Canada. Buta Singh Gill, owner of Gill Built Homes Ltd., was one of two people shot dead in Edmonton on Monday.
Sarabjit Singh, a civil engineer who was shot in the incident, is reportedly fighting for his life, Radio India Managing Director Maninder Singh Gill said, the Indian Express reported. Buta Singh Gill was the chief builder and head of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara.

Maninder Gill said that according to initial reports, three persons were present at the construction site when an altercation occurred, as a result of which an Indian-origin construction worker allegedly shot both Gill and Singh before taking his own life. . Although the reason for the dispute is not clear, investigation is ongoing.

Buta Singh had filed the complaint earlier
The Edmonton Journal reported that officers were called to the crime scene at Cavanagh Boulevard and 30 Avenue SW around noon. Two bodies were found at a residential construction site. It is known that Buta Singh Gill had earlier also lodged a complaint with the police on 2-3 occasions about receiving extortion calls and threats. Police has started the investigation of the matter. There have been reports of other builders receiving threats in Edmonton and incidents of newly constructed homes being set on fire.
