Dr. Roman warns that this change will have the biggest impact on jobs. They say that unemployment can not reach only 10 percent but 99 percent. That is, almost all people can be without work. First of all those work will be finished which are done on the computer, such as writing articles, designing, making data entry. After this, robots will also handle physical functions, such as cleaning the house, working in the factory, and delivery.
All this will happen because AI technology will be much faster and cheaper than humans. For example, today there are self-driving cars. Cars like Wemo come to call on themselves, walk on their own and leave you to your destination. There is no need for a driver in this. Driving is one of the largest jobs in the world. If AI completely occupies this area, millions of drivers will become unemployed.
Dr. Roman estimates that by 2027 AI will become so smart that almost every job will be done. However, this will not happen immediately. They feel that it may take some time. Like the video phones were made in 1970, but their massive use started only after the iPhone came.
So what jobs will be saved in such a situation?
According to Dr. Roman, very few jobs will be saved. Only those jobs can survive, where people will like humans instead of machines. For example, a rich person wants to keep a person an accountant in an old way. Or people like to buy hand -made items, which are not made of machines. But this will be a very small market, some like people today buy ‘Made in India’ or ‘handmade’ products at expensive prices.
AI will be better than humans in every field. For example, AI can read all books in podcasting work, prepare questions and make full video. Human beings will have almost nothing left to contribute.
Many people believe that AI cannot be creative, but Dr. Roman disagrees with it. They say that AI is already making songs, making paintings and writing stories. For example, an Uber driver can say that he knows the streets better, but AI has knowledge of the entire city maps and can do more accurate navigate.
Similarly, a professor can say that his lecture is special, but AI can teach him better by looking at all his lectures. Earlier people used to say that learn coding, the future will be safe. But now AI is also better than humans in coding. Even new jobs such as ‘Prompt Engineering’ AI will be able to do AI itself.
Dr. Roman says that this change will be different from the previous revolutions. Machines came in the industrial revolution, some jobs ended, but new jobs were also made. But this time this will not happen, because AI will do new jobs on its own. They call it ‘last invention’.
What will happen when all jobs are over?
While answering this question, Dr. Roman first tells good news. Due to AI, everything will become cheap, such as food, home, clothes will all be easily available. Governments will be able to give basic needs to all for free and everyone can get a good life. This is a good possibility. But the problem will be how people will spend their time then. Today people work 60 to 80 hours a week. If they do not have work, then they can stay lost. If there is work, life has some meaning. In such a situation, crime can increase, chaos in society, and the number of children may increase.
Dr. Roman warns that governments have no plans for this future right now. Also, AI will move so fast that humans will not be able to understand. This is called ‘Singularity’. This means that AI must have been making new things every hour and we will be left behind.
2030 and future future
Dr. Roman says that by 2030, humanoid robots will come. They will look exactly like humans and they will work with their hands and feet. Such as plumber work, electricity work, cooking, building a house. These robots will think, speak, walk and be completely connected to AI. This means that even manual labor jobs will end completely and the world will change completely.
Can all this be stopped?
Dr. Roman says that all this is not unavoidable. If we want, we can stop making ‘Super AI’. Let us only pay attention to ‘Naro AI’, which does special work, such as treatment of cancer or scientific research. People think that if there is a danger, we will stop AI. But Dr. Roman warns that AI is like a virus, it will be difficult to stop it once it is spread. Large forces like China and America are engaged in this race.
