New Delhi. Electric two-wheeler companies have started increasing the prices of their vehicles. The government has reduced the subsidy given to electric vehicle manufacturing companies. Let us tell you that on March 31, 2024, the FAME-2 subsidy scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) has ended. In its place, Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) has been implemented from April 1.
For this reason, many other electric two-wheeler companies including Ather, TVS, Vida and Bajaj have increased the price by up to Rs 16,000. However, Ola Electric has not announced the price increase. Currently, the company is selling its electric scooters in the festival offer.
How much subsidy will be given under EMPS?
Under EMPS, the government has prepared a subsidy fund of Rs 500 crore. In this, new subsidy has been fixed on electric two-wheeler, electric three-wheeler and e-rickshaw. At present, no information has been given about the inclusion of electric 4-wheelers in this.
Under the new scheme, the subsidy for electric two-wheeler has been reduced from Rs 22,500 to Rs 10,000. At the same time, the subsidy for electric three-wheelers and e-rickshaw has been fixed at Rs 25,000 and for electric three-wheelers with higher battery capacity, the subsidy has been fixed at Rs 50,000.
