For BTS’s army, the cold of winter 2026 has been replaced by the warmth of a long-awaited promise. As the new year begins, the wait is officially over: BTS is ready to come back. Following an announcement in Korean media, the group confirmed that they would be releasing a new album on March 20, marking their first collective project in nearly four years.

This upcoming release is the first release of the group evidence In June 2022. That compilation served as a prelude to a significant group hiatus, a period during which the members completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. Now, the Bulletproof Boy Scouts are ready to reunite.
About official confirmation
The news first broke in major newspapers in South Korea before BigHit Music confirmed the report with a post on their X account. However, in true BTS fashion, the members chose a more personal way of breaking up with their fans. Before the official announcement, the group members had gone directly to fans with the release date, sending letters with handwritten messages to some ARMY members’ homes with the telltale dateline of “2026.3.20”.
The letters were filled with raw emotions from seven artists who have spent years hoping for their reunion. The group’s leader, RM, shared his weakness, writing that he was “looking forward to this moment more than anyone.”
Jin, the first member to complete his service, reflected on his time apart from the group: “I welcomed you all as a solo artist in 2023 and 2024, but I can finally welcome you again as part of a team.” The group’s sunshine, J-Hope, couldn’t hide his excitement, writing: “Finally, this is the year we all get to be with you!!” Meanwhile, Jungkook, the group’s youngest, looked to the future with a simple request: “Please take good care of us this year too.”
What’s next for Icons?
The reunion started early as BTS also gathered on Weverse to take part in the New Year countdown, giving fans their first look at the entire group in years. Although the title and concept of the album are a secret, the industry is already bracing for the impact.
Following the March release, excitement is reaching its peak as a world tour is also expected to be announced soon. After four years of solo touring, the world’s biggest band is finally coming home.
