BSA’s new Bantam 350 is the company’s cheapest bike ever. Its initial price is around 4.07 lakh rupees (3,499 pounds in the UK). This bike is the new and modern avatar of the old-fashioned two-stroke Banom. However, its engine is the same, which is found in Jawa 42 sold in India. The 334cc liquid cooled single-cylinder engine gives a power of 29.17PS and torque of 29.62Nm. But there is no copy of Banom Java, many changes have been made in it. A special black single exhaust pipe, a large fuel tank of 13 liters and 800mm seat height are important in its changes. Its weight is 184kg, which is quite managed. The look of the bike is also very clean and like a roadster. Round LED headlight, bar-end mirror, alloy wheels, and road focused tires give it a modern look.
Scrambler 650 to whom will the collision?
BSA’s scrambler 650 is for those who are fond of adventure and off-roading. Its engine is the same which is used in the company’s gold star bike. The 652cc single-cylinder engine gives 45PS power and 55Nm torque. But a lot of changes have been made in its looks and setups, so that it has a real scrummer bike. It has a spoke wheels of 19 inch and back 17 inch, which are installed Pireli Scorpion Rally Str Tires. Suspension has also been re-tuned to give a little more travel, so that light off-road trails can be easily crossed.
The wheelbase of the scrambler has been increased and its seat has been reduced to 820mm. Its weight has also become 218kg. Its instrument cluster is placed in a single-pod design, which will be simple but use, and perhaps basic connectivity features can also be given. Its price in the UK is around ₹ 6.99 lakh (5999 pounds), but in India it can come by December 2025, and it is expected that it can be priced at Rs 3.4 lakh ex-showroom. If this happens, this bike can give a direct competition to Royal Enfield Bear 650 in India.
