Bronze statues of prominent figures placed in central London (UK) have now become symbols of paternity leave advocacy. A group called Dad Shift is tying life-size baby dolls to the statues to draw the attention of the government and passersby.
“We want to draw attention to the important role fatherhood plays in men’s lives – and why the UK government needs to provide better paternity leave for fathers and co-parents,” the group wrote on its Instagram handle.
According to reports, new fathers in the UK are currently only given two weeks’ statutory leave, paid at £184.03 (£184.03). 20,314) per week.
