Prince Harry and Prince William attended their uncle Sir Robert Fellowes’ memorial service last week. But, according to reports, they didn’t interact at all. In fact, some reports claim they didn’t even look at each other.
An insider told Express that the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex were present during the ceremony, but avoided talking to each other.
Prince Harry is reported to have stayed with his uncle Charles Spencer at Althorp House in Northampton. The historic property, where Princess Diana grew up, served as Harry’s accommodation during his recent visit to the UK.
However, this doesn’t mean this is the final showdown. According to a source, both brothers are now interested in repairing their strained relationship.
The only thing that can mend their broken relationship is the help of the Spencer family. Hopefully Jane or Charles can step in to make peace between the Spencer brothers, though it may take some time for that to happen.
“Harry is ready to reconcile with his brother. He knows it won’t be an easy task, but it’s something that can be brought up for discussion,” the source told Express.
They added: “William is not against a reconciliation with his brother at some point but things would have to start from scratch, a fresh start sort of situation where the past isn’t mentioned.”
Harry’s ‘home’ in Britain
Harry does not have an official home in Britain. Harry and his wife Meghan Markle received Frogmore Cottage from Queen Elizabeth as a wedding gift.
After their wedding, Harry and Meghan hoped to live at Windsor Castle and had asked about securing a place there. At the time, the only people with private accommodation inside the castle were the late queen and Prince Philip.
Harry and Meghan wanted to be closer to the Queen and Prince Philip, and they felt they could stay at the palace. However, the Queen proposed a different plan, suggesting the couple stay at Frogmore Cottage, which was nearby but not on the palace grounds.
Harry and Meghan will leave Frogmore Cottage in 2023. Reports reveal comments Harry made about Queen Camilla in his memoir Excessive King Charles was so offended that he asked the Sussexes to vacate the 5,089 sq ft house.
