Virat’s wife, actress Anushka Sharma, shared a picture of the match on her television and wrote, “OMG OMG OMG”. Sushmita Sen wrote on her Instagram story, “What a team! So proud! Tears of joy. South Africa played brilliantly.”

Virat Kohli’s cleverness and Rohit Sharma’s inspirational captaincy ended India’s 11-year wait for a global title. The star-studded team won its second T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 5 runs in a thrilling final here on Saturday. Kohli, who was part of the 2011 ODI World Cup victory, announced his retirement from the format soon after the match. Kohli said, “Now the time has come for the next generation to take over. It was an open secret and I would have announced it even if we had lost.”
