Bike Care: While riding a bike, we make many small mistakes which we are not aware of, but which have a bad effect on the engine and other parts of the bike. How long the engine of the bike will give better performance also depends on how we start or stop the bike.
Many bikers often repeat such mistakes while starting the bike in the morning due to which the engine starts responding prematurely. Due to these mistakes, the mileage of the bike also reduces and there is a possibility of engine failure. Today we are going to tell you about some of the common mistakes made while starting the bike, which most people do not pay attention to. Let us know…
1. Start riding as soon as you start the bike
Most of the people riding bikes make this mistake every day. Let us tell you that when the bike remains parked overnight, its engine oil gets accumulated in the lower part of the engine. At this time there is less lubrication in the engine parts. If you start the bike immediately and start driving, then due to less lubrication, many parts inside the engine may wear out and get damaged. Doing this repeatedly may cause engine problems in the long run. Therefore, if you drive a BS-6 bike, then after starting the bike which has been standing for 6-7 hours, keep it in idle mode for 10 seconds. If the bike is BS-4 then give at least 15-20 seconds time for the engine to warm up.
2. Giving more races after starting
If the bike remains stationary for 5-6 hours then there is lack of lubrication in the engine. In such a situation, if the bike is raced too much after starting it, the chances of engine parts getting worn out increases. Excessive racing unnecessarily burns more oil which reduces the mileage. Keep in mind that while starting the bike after a long time, one should not race it too much. Give the engine just enough race so that the bike does not stop or let the engine warm up without giving any race.
3. Racing the bike too much
After starting the bike, one should not run it at high RPM for a long time. The bike should not be raced immediately. If you are starting the bike after a long time, then keep its speed at 25-30 Kmph for some time. By doing this the engine gets well lubricated and the risk of wear of the internal parts is reduced. After 15-20 seconds, the speed of the bike can be increased as per requirement.
