An order issued by Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said the school closure period has been extended in response to the ongoing cold wave conditions, which is threatening the health and well-being of students. The order also includes pre-schools and Anganwadi centres. ,
Classes from 9th to 12th will be held as per schedule from 9 am to 3.30 pm and no academic activities will be allowed after 3.30 pm.
The Patna District Magistrate’s order further states that the upcoming Bihar Board exams and special classes for ‘Mission Daksh’ (Dynamic Approach to Knowledge and Skills) will be excluded from the above order.
Earlier on Saturday, the district administration had ordered closure of all government and private schools for students up to Class 8 till January 16 as a cold wave hit the state on Friday and the mercury dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in the district. Was. The administration has also changed the class timings for higher classes.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extreme cold and dense fog for the next few days in North India, including Bihar. The temperature has gone below 10 degrees Celsius in many districts. According to the Meteorological Department report, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 4.9 degrees Celsius in Gaya. The minimum temperature in various parts of the state including Patna will remain between 9 to 12 for the next few days.
