Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday invited his father and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav during a debate in the assembly and targeted the leader of the President Janata Dal (RJD) and his former Deputy Tejashvi Yadav.
On coming back to Yadav, the Chief Minister said, “What was in Bihar earlier? It was me that I (Tejashvi Yadav) had made a father. What he became. Even your caste people were asking me why I was doing this, but I still supported him,” NDTV.

Nitish Kumar started speaking about the development works done by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state. A day after the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader criticized the budget presented by the Nitish Kumar government, he came face to face on Tuesday.
On March 3, Bihar government estimated the estimated budget 3,16,895.02 crore in the assembly for financial year 2025-26. Budget allocation has exceeded 38,169.30 crore compared to previous budget 2,78,725.72 crore. This was the final budget of this Nitish Kumar dispensation as the assembly elections in Bihar are later this year.

JD-U Chief Nitish Kumar set relations with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2013, after returning only four years later, after sharing power with RJD between 2015 and 2017. In 2022, he again crossed his Deputy Minister with RJD-Helmed Mahagathbandhan, Tejashwi. But Nitish Kumar returned to the NDA last year.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar emerged on India’s political scenario about five decades ago during the socialist movement started by Jayaprakash Narayan. Since then, both have been partners and rival in Bihar.
Earlier speaking in the assembly, Tejashvi compared the previous government in Bihar, led by his father and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and slammed the rule under the leadership of his former colleague Nitish Kumar.
