In an important step towards India’s globalization Education As conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) opened its Dubai campus on 11 September. Two years ago, after the inauguration of an IIT branch in Abu Dhabi, PM Modi assured the UAE leadership about the establishment of an IIM campus in Dubai one and half years ago. The promise was fulfilled when Dubai’s Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed inaugurated the first international campus of IIMA in Dubai International Academic City on 11 September.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted that this campus would perform best in India. Dubai hosts the International Campus of IIMA and provides the correct launchpad for the ethos of the “Indian soul, Global in Outlook”.
Dubai is emerging as a top option for extraordinary students and a global hub for talent, innovation and entrepreneurship. In its first year, IIMA plans to set up two dedicated centers of excellence in the Dubai campus: one focuses on case writing and development, and the other on start-up incubation. The first program launched by IIMA Dubai is a full -time MBA of one year. Structured in five words, it provides a rigorous academic experience and international risk, reflecting the global standards of the high ranked MBA of IIMA. The inauguration of a one -year MBA program in Dubai consists of 35 students, including 27 (77.14%) male and eight (22.86%) female students.
IIMA Dubai campus is the result of the joint vision of Indian and Dubai governments. With the launch of its first international campus in Dubai International Academic City, IIMA has expanded its global presence in management education. The aim of the new campus is to distribute world-class learning opportunities for leaders interested in West Asia and neighboring regions, promoting rich cross-cultural exchanges and educational cooperation. The Dubai campus is equipped with state -of -the -art educational resources and modern features to support students’ learning needs in rapidly changing international environment.
Muhammad said, “Dubai has continued to attract world -class universities as part of our commitment to pursue the higher education sector with Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and The Education 33 Strategy,” aims to one of the top 10 student cities in the world by 2033. Education for IIMA’s state -of -the -art Dubai campus, India minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended, Sanjay Sudhir, India’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, and Senior IIM Ahmedabad officials with UAE top ministers and officials. Dharmendra Pradhan said that it was a new milestone in India-UAE knowledge cooperation, in which Dubai hosted the International Campus of IIM Ahmedabad and provided an ideal launchpad for the ethos of “Indian in Spirit, Global in Outlook”.
