Team India cricketers took out time to watch Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar at a multiplex in Lucknow on Monday night. The team had reached the city the same evening ahead of the fourth T20 match against South Africa to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium on 17 December.

After taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series, the team decided to rest by watching a blockbuster starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. The entire auditorium was booked for the special guests for the 8:10 pm show at the Phoenix Palacio Mall multiplex.
Coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Suryakumar Yadav, vice-captain Shubman Gill, and players like Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Tilak Verma and others were seen in comfortable casual attire for their movie outing. India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, a South African, also came to watch the film with him.
The company’s regional director Sajeev Sarin said, “We had booked the entire Audi No. 10 for them because it is about our star players, and we had to follow several protocols for their safety and comfort. So, it was just the players and support staff who witnessed this special show. It was a pleasure to host the champion team in Lucknow. The total strength of the contingent was 40 members.” The players came out at 12.10.
After landing at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, the Indian team checked-in at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, while the South African team is staying at the Hotel Renaissance. Both sides are scheduled to have a practice session at the Ekana Stadium on Tuesday.
The stadium management is fully prepared to host the international match on Wednesday. Temporary shops of T-shirt vendors have already started setting up around the perimeter of the stadium. Special traffic management plans are also in place to manage the expected crowds and ensure safe entry and exit for teams and spectators.
India won the opening match, but the visiting team won the second game to level the series. After an impressive seven-wicket win in the third T20I, the hosts will now look to wrap up the series with another win.
