There are reports that BCCI is thinking of shutting down this trophy, due to which many people are angry.
Soha Ali Khan, who is the daughter of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, is very disappointed with this news. He said- ‘My father made a big contribution in Indian cricket. He was the first captain to win a Test match to India on foreign land. He brought solidarity in the team. If the trophy of his name is closed, then at least they must get respect in some other way.
Sharmila Tagore is also sad
Soha’s mother and famous actress Sharmila Tagore also expressed grief over this decision. He said that he has not been given any information from BCCI so far, but the England Cricket Board (ECB) sent a letter to his son Saif Ali Khan and told that the trophy is being retired. He said, ‘If BCCI Mansoor Ali Khan wants to maintain the memory of Pataudi, it is his decision. But this thing hurts.
Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar has also criticized this decision. He said that this is like ignoring the contribution of the Pataudi family. They believe that such decisions should be taken carefully.
