Telangana’s Batukamma Utsav made two Guinness World Records at the Sarurnagar Stadium in Greater Hyderabad and made two Guinness World Records. Vishal Batukamma decorated with 63 feet high and 36 feet wide flowers became the highest in the world, while traditional dance performance by 1,354 women simultaneously broke the record of the biggest folk dance. This grand ceremony showed Telangana’s cultural heritage, community spirit and women’s unity on the global stage.
Hyderabad. The Batukamma Utsav of Telangana, a symbol of cultural splendor, made history and made two Guinness World Records. This grand event was held at the Sarurnagar Stadium in Greater Hyderabad, which recorded another proud achievement for the state. The 63 feet (or 63.11 ft) high and 36 feet wide Vishal Batukamma, established at the center of the ceremony, became the highest Batukamma in the world to get special recognition from the Guinness Book.
Biggest folk dance performance
Thousands of women made another Guinness World Record by playing Batukamma while singing traditional songs together. This record was achieved by 1,354 women by performing a dancing in full coordination, which broke the previous record. This ‘Maha Batukamma’ program was organized by the Government of Telangana at the Sarauranagar Stadium with the aim of making a Guinness records. On this occasion, the traditional Batukamma songs sung by Vimalka and singer Geeta Madhuri mesmerized the attendees.
Miss World 2025 Opal Suchata Chuangasri was the center of special attraction in this Mega Batukamma program. A delegation from the Continental Miss World also attended the ceremony. Miss World praised the culture of Telangana and played Batukamma with women. The ceremony was a lively proof of Telangana’s rich cultural heritage, community spirit and unity of women, which gave a new identity to Batukamma festival on the global stage.
