The buzz about actors Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed working together for the first time in Barzakh after 12 years in the superhit show Zindagi Gulzar Hai is in full swing and with the release of the teaser, it has only gotten more intense. Interesting glimpse
On Wednesday, the project’s team shared a teaser on social media, which focuses on the eyes. In the first glimpse of the world of Barzakh, the actor is seen applying kaajal to his eyes. There is no dialogue, but there is interesting music, which increases the suspense.
He posted the teaser with a caption that read, “Eyes filled with secrets, ready to unravel the mysteries within. Will love survive when everything fades? Trailer launching on 1st July – are you ready for the journey? Barzakh premieres on 19th July on Zindagi YouTube and ZEE5 show.”
The show revolves around a reclusive resort owner who invites his estranged children to his third wedding. However, his bride-to-be is believed to have died long ago. The reunion will force the family to not only confront their demons but also confront them.
Excitement reaches new heights
The teaser has excited fans, who took to social media to express their happiness at seeing Fawad and Sanam together once again.
One user wrote, “OMG I am so excited that Fawad Khan is back.” Another wrote, “The King is back.”

About the show
Barzakh follows the journey of a 76-year-old reclusive man who invites his estranged children and grandchildren to his remote valley resort to celebrate his marriage with the soul of his first true love. The series unfolds against the backdrop of the picturesque Hunza Valley. Furthermore, Barzakh explores themes of mental health, postpartum depression, generational trauma and gender inclusivity.
The six-episode series stars Salman Shahid, M., Iman Suleman, Khushal Khan, Faiza Gilani, Anika Zulfiqar, Franco Giusti. It is produced by Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan, while cinematography is done by Mo Azmi.
Director Asim Abbasi said in a statement, “This is a story of love and faith. About human beings desperately looking for connection and meaning. Fragile, broken souls who want to hold on to whatever they can to make sense of this big, bad, beautiful thing. Thanks to Shailja and Zindagi, Barzakh is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. And while I hope the six hours of this series will leave the audience completely enthralled and entertained; more than that, I hope ‘Land of Nowhere’ will change a small part of their hearts in an unexpected way. The way it changed so many of us who were involved in its making.” It will go live on Zindagi’s YouTube and ZEE5 on July 19.
