Barmer. Partial changes have been made in the operation of long distance trains running from the country’s border district Barmer. Due to the farmers’ movement, rail traffic in the border districts is being affected. Due to non-interlocking work on the Bathinda-Dhuri railway route and farmers’ agitation, two trains running from Jodhpur division have been partially cancelled. Both these trains were from Barmer to Rishikesh and Jammu Tawi. But now it will run only till Delhi and Bathinda.
Jodhpur Railway DRM Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that non-interlocking work is in progress between the ongoing farmers’ movement in Punjab and Rampuraphool and Tapa stations of Bathinda-Dhuri railway route. Because of this, Barmer-Rishikesh-Barmer Express will run till Bathinda and due to farmers’ movement, Barmer-Jammuthavi-Barmer Shalimar Express train will run till Delhi station only.
-Train number 14888 Barmer-Rishikesh Express from 3rd to 6th May and 14887 Rishikesh-Barmer Express train will remain partially canceled between Bathinda to Rishikesh station from 3rd to 7th May. That means the train will not go to Rishikesh but will run till Bathinda only.
Similarly, train number 14661/14662 Barmer-Jammu Tawi-Barmer Shalimar Express will remain canceled between Delhi to Jammu Tawi railway stations from 3rd to 4th May. On these dates, this train will run only between Barmer and Delhi railway stations. This means that passengers going to Haridwar and Rishikesh will have to cancel their journey by this train. Passengers traveling long distances will have to face a lot of trouble.
