Latest footage from the incident site near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra East shows the spot where NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot late last night.

After his death due to gunshot in Lilavati Hospital, his body has been taken to Cooper Hospital for post-mortem.

Siddiqui, a former Maharashtra minister and leader of NCP’s Ajit Pawar faction, was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra and later died at Lilavati Hospital late Saturday night.
His mortal remains were kept at the hospital, where a sizeable crowd of politicians and celebrities gathered to pay their respects to his family. Siddiqui, a three-time MLA from Bandra West, had joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP after quitting the Congress earlier this year.
Chief Minister Shinde described the incident as “extremely unfortunate” and said two suspects have been arrested, while one is still absconding.
“This is a very unfortunate incident. I talked to doctors and police. Two people have been arrested – the accused are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The third accused is absconding. CM Shinde told reporters in Thane a day earlier, we have directed Mumbai Police to take strict action against those who take law and order into their own hands.
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital said Baba Siddiqui was hit by two bullets in his chest before he was admitted for emergency treatment at around 9.30 pm on Saturday night.
Despite extensive resuscitation efforts, he died shortly afterwards.
Confirming the arrest of the two suspects, Mumbai’s Additional CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya said, “The incident took place at around 9:30 pm in Nirmal Nagar. Baba Siddiqui was taken to Lilavati Hospital after being shot. Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the case.” Still working.”
Officials also said that the weapon used in the shooting has been recovered, identifying it as a 9.9 mm pistol.
