There is an ancient Shivling of Lord Shiva near Balaji temple located on Ramghat of Chitrakoot. The soldiers were held by strong diarrhea and diseases. Even after this, Aurangzeb did not give up. He tried to break the statue of Thakur ji kept in the hand of the boy Das. This worsened the condition of him and his army. Aurangzeb asked the local people the reason for this defeat. People advised him to go to Saint Balakdas.
History from miracle
Aurangzeb reached Saint Balakdas and told his troubles. The saint took out the blessings from Havankund and asked him to sprinkle it among the soldiers. Surprisingly, all the soldiers became healthy as soon as this. Impressed by this miracle, Aurangzeb gave up the intention of breaking the temple and ordered its reconstruction. Also, for the maintenance of the temple, 330 bighas of land were donated, which is still recorded in the name of Balaji temple. Temples now come from far and wide to visit devotees.
