Astronomers have seen something amazing in space. Two galaxies are attacking each other as a duality.
The galaxies are moving towards each other in more than 1.8 million kmph. Scientists saw it using telescopes for almost four years.
One galaxy is shooting a powerful radiation on the other. It is removing gas clouds and preventing new stars from creating.
Researchers call this fight “cosmic hostel”. These galaxies, which are 11 billion light-year away, are gradually merging into a large galaxy.
This rare phenomenon gives scientists a chance to understand how the galaxies changed in the early universe when such clashes were more normal.
“This is an exciting field to study. Such research can teach us more about the birth of new galaxies and see how they develop over time.” Astrophysicist Dong-Vu Kim told CNN.
Powerful telescope
Researchers are using very large binoculars. They have found that a bright core, called a vasar, is damaging another nearby galaxy in a galaxy. A supermasive black hole drives strong radiation – a thousand times stronger than radiation in our milkyway.
“First, we just knew that there was some molecular gas between the (of Galaxy) Quaser and us. It is only later when we started looking with large telescopes, that we found that there were actually two galaxies,” researcher Puskir Noerdem told the publishing.
This radiation gas breaks hydrogen in clouds that form stars. As a result, clouds become very small and thin to create new stars. The second galaxy feeds additional materials to the Quaser, giving it more energy.
For the first time, scientists directly saw how a quaster’s radiation affects the gas that makes a nearby star. It was only something in his imagination at first.
Scientists studied this quasar as it showed rare characteristics between thousands of distant space signals. These signs show what distant objects are made from.
The quaser light is so strong that it hides the galaxies nearby. That is why it is as rare to spot one in this way as “Finding a needle in a histor”, according to Kothor Sergei Balashev per study.
