Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has informed that the matter related to 150 students of Cachar district of Assam, who did not get marks in the higher secondary final examination result declared on Thursday, has been resolved.
The state education minister wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “This issue of Cachar district has been resolved. “Students can download their marksheet with marks of all their subjects.”
The 150 students also include those who had secured a top-10 position in the class 10 final examination in 2022.
Meanwhile, the students said that they have downloaded the mark sheet again and it is the same as before. Responding to Pegu’s post, a student named Nehal Tanti wrote, ‘It still looks the same.’
Biswadeep Nath, a student of Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School, Silchar, who secured tenth position in the Class 10 final exams in 2022, has been marked absent in the English language subject in the HS final result sheet.
His father, Vidyut Nath, a senior doctor in Silchar, said his son had faced problems due to the irregularities, but preferred not to comment on the matter. After the assurance from the Education Minister on Friday evening, he said that his son’s marksheet has not been updated yet.
The examination conducted by Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) ended on March 13 and the result was declared on May 9. According to the Education Minister, 273908 students appeared for the examination and 242794 students passed. The passing percentage was 88.64% and girls performed better than boys in all streams.
However, irregularities in many educational institutions in Cachar district left students disappointed. A student of Gurucharan College, Silchar, on condition of anonymity, said the result was shocking.
The students said, “I know how I performed in the paper and I had some plans for further studies. But the marksheet ruined my career. My name is written absent in the English language paper, but other The marks in the subjects are less.”
Rudra Narayan Gupta, owner of Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School, Silchar, said this is a matter of great concern and the education department needs to find the source of the problem.
He said, “As per the procedure, papers from one district go to other districts for scrutiny. The department needs to be more careful about including marks in the marksheet as such a case can impact students psychologically.” Could.”
